Nationwide reduces mortgage rates by up to 0.40%

Nationwide Building Society is reducing fixed remortgage rates by up to 0.25 percentage points and selected tracker rates by up to 0.40 percentage points, with the new rates effective from tomorrow, Tuesday 3 October 2023.

These latest reductions mean Nationwide is now offering sub-five per cent rates on its residential range of five-year fixed rates for borrowers looking to remortgage to Nationwide – with rates starting at 4.99%.

Remortgage: reductions of up to 0.40% across two, three and five-year fixed rate and two-year tracker products up to 90% LTV, including: 

  • Five-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £999 fee is now 4.99% (reduced by 0.21%)
  • Three-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £999 fee is now 5.49% (reduced by 0.25%)
  • Two-year fixed rate at 75% LTV with a £999 fee is now 5.52% (reduced by 0.23%)
  • Two-year tracker rate at 80% LTV with no fee is now 6.34% (reduced by 0.40%)

New customers moving home: reductions of up to 0.39% across two-year tracker products up to 95% LTV, including: 

  • Two-year tracker rate at 60% LTV for with no fee is now 5.99% (reduced by 0.30%)
  • Two-year tracker rate at 85% LTV for with no fee is now 6.22% (reduced by 0.39%)

First time buyer: reductions of up to 0.40% across two-year tracker products up to 95% LTV, including: 

  • Two-year tracker rate at 60% LTV for with no fee is now 6.14% (reduced by 0.40%)
  • Two-year tracker rate at 75% LTV for with no fee is now 6.19% (reduced by 0.40%)

Nationwide is also reducing two-year tracker rates for existing members moving home by up to 0.39%, while tracker rates for additional borrowing are reducing by up to 0.30%.

These latest changes also continue Nationwide’s existing mortgage member pricing pledge, meaning the switcher product rates will be the same or lower than the remortgage equivalents.
