Coventry is showcasing the Paris Based, Kenyan artist Evans Mbugua showing one of his pieces from his series Back to the Future. The piece was chosen because November Show Windows is Coventry around the world month. Evans work celebrates his relationship with his family, especially showcasing their energy and life in portraits, whilst questioning our generation’s fight to preserve our environment in the light of climate change. Evans remains optimistic and through this dynamic piece provides a clear nod to his heritage through patterns and colours used. This piece invites us to think about the World today and tomorrow and our impact upon it.
Dave Belson, Senior Branch Manager for Coventry said, “I’m really excited and proud to help celebrate Coventry here in our branch by displaying the work of Evans Mbugua in our windows. Nationwide has given £1.6million to local causes across the Central area over the last three years through our Community Grants programme, including £50k this year to Coventry Citizens Advice Bureau “Reach” project.
