Nationwide cuts rates across fixed rate mortgage range

Effective from tomorrow, Tuesday 24 September, Nationwide Building Society will be cutting rates on the vast majority of its fixed rate products by up to 0.31 percentage points.

At the same time, Nationwide will extend its Helping Hand to become the first major lender to offer first-time buyers the ability to borrow six times income up to 95 per cent Loan-to-Value.

The new rates include:

First-time buyers: reductions of up to 0.31% across two, three, five and ten-year fixed rate products up to 95% LTV, including: 

  • Five-year fixed rate at 95% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.99% (reduced by 0.05%)
  • Ten-year fixed rate at 75% LTV with no fee is 4.69% (reduced by 0.31%)
  • Five-year fixed rate at 90% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.49% (reduced by 0.10%)
  • Five-year fixed rate at 85% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.19% (reduced by 0.15%)
  • Three-year fixed rate at 90% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.99% (reduced by 0.05%)

New customers moving home: reductions of up to 0.29% across two, three, five and ten-year fixed rate products up to 95% LTV, including:

  • Five-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £1,4991 fee is 3.74% (reduced by 0.04%)
  • Two-year fixed rate at 90% LTV with a £999 fee is 5.04% (reduced by 0.10%)
  • Three-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £999 fee is 3.99% (reduced by 0.29%)
  • Five-year fixed rate at 95% LTV with a £0 fee is 5.09% (reduced by 0.05%)
  • Ten-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.59% (reduced by 0.10%)

Existing customers moving home: reductions of up to 0.29% across two, three, five and ten-year fixed rate products up to 95% LTV, including:

  • Five-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £1,4991 fee is 3.74% (reduced by 0.04%)
  • Two-year fixed rate at 90% LTV with a £999 fee is 5.04% (reduced by 0.10%)
  • Three-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £999 fee is 3.99% (reduced by 0.29%)
  • Five-year fixed rate at 95% LTV with a £0 fee is 5.04% (reduced by 0.05%)
  • Ten-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.54% (reduced by 0.15%)

The latest changes again demonstrate how Nationwide continues to offer existing customers who are moving home the same or lower rate than the equivalent rates available for new customers.

Remortgage: reductions of up to 0.27% across two, three and five-year fixed rate products up to 95% LTV, including:  

  • Two-year fixed rate at 85% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.99% (reduced by 0.27%)
  • Five-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £1,4991 fee is 3.79% (reduced by 0.15%)
  • Three-year fixed rate at 85% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.89% (reduced by 0.19%)
  • Five-year fixed rate at 90% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.89% (reduced by 0.15%)
  • Five-year fixed rate at 95% LTV with a £0 fee is 5.54% (reduced by 0.10%)

Nationwide is also reducing selected two, three, five-year and ten-year switcher rates at up to 95% LTV by up to 0.26% with rates starting from 3.79%. These latest changes also continue Nationwide’s existing mortgage member pricing pledge, meaning the switcher product rates will be the same or lower than the remortgage equivalents.
