Nationwide cuts mortgage rates by up to 0.81%

Effective from tomorrow, Wednesday 24 January, Nationwide Building Society will be reducing selected rates by up to 0.81 percentage points and introducing a new range of fixed and tracker rate products with a £1,499 fee. These changes mean Nationwide’s rates start at 3.84% - its lowest level in eight months.

The new rates include: 

New customers moving home: reductions of up to 0.80% across two, three, five and ten-year fixed rate products up to 95% LTV plus the launch of new £1,499 fee products, including:  

  • Five-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £1,499 fee is 3.85% (New product) 
  • Three-year fixed rate at 75% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.24% (reduced by 0.75%) 
  • Two-year fixed rate at 85% LTV with a £1,499 fee is 4.49% (New product) 
  • Two-year tracker rate 60% LTV with a £1,499 fee is 5.35% (New product) 

First-time buyers: reductions of up to 0.74% across two, three, five and ten-year fixed rate products up to 95% LTV plus launch of new £1,499 fee products, including:  

  • Five-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £1,499 fee is 3.85% (New product) 
  • Three-year fixed rate at 75% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.34% (reduced by 0.74%) 
  • Two-year fixed rate at 85% LTV with a £1,499 fee is 4.56% (New product) 
  • Two-year tracker rate 60% LTV with a £1,499 fee is 5.50% (New product) 

Remortgage: reductions of up to 0.80% across two, three, five and ten-year fixed rate products up to 90% LTV, plus launch of new £1,499 fee products, including:  

  • Five-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £999 fee is 3.88% (reduced by 0.80%) 
  • Three-year fixed rate at 75% LTV with a £999 fee is 4.50% (reduced by 0.39%) 
  • Two-year fixed rate at 60% LTV with a £1,499 fee is 4.33% (New product) 
  • Two-year tracker rate 75% LTV with a £1,499 fee is 5.50% (New product) 

Nationwide is also reducing selected two, three, five and ten-year switcher rates at 95% by up to 0.81% with rates starting from 3.84%. These latest changes also continue Nationwide’s existing mortgage member pricing pledge, meaning the switcher product rates will be the same or lower than the remortgage equivalents. 

Nationwide is reducing rates and for existing customers moving home by up to 0.80% and introducing a range of products with £1,499 fee, with rates now starting from 3.85%. Rates for additional borrowing will be reduced by 0.81% and will now start from 3.84%
