Nationwide Building Society opens two newly refurbished branches in Leicester and Coalville

  • Nationwide opened new, larger Leicester branch at 7-11 Humberstone Gate on 1 March
  • Also reopened refurbished Coalville branch at 32 Belvoir Shopping Centre on 3 March
  • New premises will offer the latest tech and a dedicated community area for members

Nationwide Building Society has this week opened a new branch in central Leicester and refurbished its branch in Coalville, offering new and improved spaces for its members.

Both branches incorporate the Society’s latest design, which is both modern and homely. Members will have access to new services including free wi-fi and access to Nationwide’s online banking via tablets alongside the leading face-to-face service that they expect.

The new Leicester branch is larger and more spacious than the previous space, while Coalville has benefited from the addition of a new conversation area for members.

The Leicester branch’s new community area also includes a noticeboard for public messages and colouring-in activities to keep children entertained.

Andrew Westhead, Regional Director said: “We’re delighted to have been able to invest in two branches in the area to bring our members even better facilities. It’s great to have something to look forward to, and I know that the teams will be excited to welcome members safely into our brand-new spaces.”

Nationwide is committed to maintaining and improving its branch network. In 2019 the Society pledged not to leave any town or city without a branch until 2021. Last year, the Society renewed that commitment until January 2023, giving two years of firm commitment. Since 2017, Nationwide have invested over £225 million in refurbishing the network.
